This 8 week program, beginning on January 13, 2024, is designed to provide new curlers with a fundamental knowledge of curling as well as on-ice instruction for both standard and stick curling delivery.
Each 2-hour weekly session will take place Monday evenings from 7:30 – 9:30 pm and will be supported by experienced, friendly and enthusiastic instructors as well as a very low instructor/student ratio i.e. 1: 4 ensuring that participants are actively engaged during the on-ice programming. We have three sheets of ice available and registration will be limited to 32 participants.
Registration fees ($210 includes HST) includes the cost of two new grippers and a slip-on slider. In order to receive the correct size slider in a timely fashion, we will need to know your shoe size and hand dominance (right or left-handed). All participants will be able to use club stabilizers or curling delivery aids ensuring greater balance & control.
Off-ice instruction/discussions will take place prior to on-ice training and is generally limited to 15–20-minute sessions.
The program will kick off with a short orientation on Monday, January 13th in the lounge. Monday, March 10th will include a social wrap up event.

The Royal Kingston Curling Club was established in 1820 making it Ontario's oldest curling club and Canada's second. Originally located at the foot of Earl Street, the club has had five locations, the longest stay being at 75 Clergy Street. In 1993, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II granted permission for the use of the title "Royal". In 1996, the club was re-incorporated as a non-shareholder corporation with each full-time member becoming an equal partner with full voting rights. The club moved into its current state-of-the-art facility in 2006 and celebrated its 200th anniversary in 2020.
Along with 6-sheets of excellent ice, our facility boasts a very well amenitied banquet lounge and bar, which we rent to members and non-members.
If you are looking for curling gear, our proshop is well stocked with all of the latest product from some of the sports biggest names - Asham, Goldline, Hardline, Tournament Sports - if it's available, we'll get it!
