COVID PROTOCOLS
The Return to Play Committee and the Board are tasked with ensuring a safe environment at the Royal Kingston Curling Club (RKCC) for curlers and staff. Our terms of reference in determining the RKCC Covid Protocols are:
-
Adhere to Government of Ontario regulations for reopening
-
Adhere to Kingston, Frontenac and Lennox and Addington (KFL&A) Public Health rules and regulations
-
Use OntarioCurling Association (Curl ON)/Curling Canada documents as a guideline for resuming curling
Throughout the season, we ask members to respect each others choices and work together to make this a positive year for all.
RKCC “COVID PROTOCOLS” FOR THE 2022-23 SEASON
Masks: Mask wearing is strongly encouraged while not on the ice, but is not mandatory. It is understood that this is a person’s choice. Please respect each individual’s choice.
Social distancing: There will not be social distancing decals on the ice this year, but we encourage maintaining 2 meters separation at all times.
Feeling sick: Do not come to the club if you are feeling ill:
-
If members have any respiratory illness, stay home until symptoms have improved for at least 24 hours.
-
If members have a fever, stay home until it is completely gone
-
If members have a gastrointestinal issue, stay home until symptoms have improved for at least 48 hours
-
When returning to the club, wear a mask, including the ice shed, for 10 days since the onset of symptoms.
Vaccinations: All members are strongly encouraged to be vaccinated and up to date with their boosters.
Rock cleaning: Disinfecting the rock handles is up to each individual this year. Cleaning wipes will be available.
Staggered end starts: We will continue with staggered end starts. This eases the congestion at the doors and on the ice.
The self-screening tool: There will not be a self screening email this year. Members will receive regular communication about their individual responsibility to keep our club and membership safe.
